Ross Mackenzie
Ross Mackenzie is a wild places photographer based in Headington. Ross specialises in cold remote places. He has made numerous trips to the Arctic and to the South Atlantic and Antarctic, and spends as much time as he can exploring the wilder (northern) parts of the UK.
This is Ross’ third Artweeks exhibition, and this year he has chosen to present a series of panoramic images which give a sense of the openness of many of the remote places he has photographed both in Scotland and further afield.

"I work as a sculptor and painter and things are coming together for Artweeks. This is my first year exhibiting and I am finding it exciting developing new work and revisiting old. This sculpture 'Standing Tall' shows how I work with recycled materials. Cardboard has been painted, covered in plaster and stands on slate."
"My paintings often explore change based on past history and events. This one 'Cheerful Start' grew from an abstracted painting of the face of a young baby and includes Polaroid snaps of the baby taken in 1950."
