Angela Washbrook

Angela's theme for this exhibition is Past and Present: a variety of hand built ceramics in richly coloured glazes reflecting ancient civilizations such as those in the Middle East and India, contrasting with a selection of figurative and non-figurative ceramics and paintings in mixed media in the modern idiom.
Ceramic pieces include vases, bowls, mirror frames, wall plaques and lights and small trays and tiles. Some are unglazed terracotta decorated with coloured slips; others are lavishly decorated in strong colours, using underglazes, slips and brush-on glazes. Her drawings and paintings span a variety of disciplines such as watercolour, pastel and oils and also some prints, whilst the modern ceramic pieces have a sculptural quality; some are inspired by the human body, others by natural forms.
Easily accessible pleasant setting in conservatory overlooking garden - refreshments available.
